Lucia (*1994) is an artist working in dance and performance contexts between Zürich and Berlin. Lucia currently dances, researches and collaborates with the collective The Field, the Associated Company of Tanzhaus Zürich. Since 2019, the collective has been looking for ways to examine power dynamics in the performing arts and go beyond the boundaries of the theatrical space. With The Field, Lucia has performed at renowned cultural institutions in the city of Zurich - such as Tanzhaus, Kunsthalle, Kunsthaus, Theaterspektakel, Zürich Tanzt, Rote Fabrik and collaborated with Simone Aughterlony, Isabel Lewis, Meg Stuart and Ofelia Jarl Ortega.
Lucia studied contemporary dance in Germany and the Netherlands. Alongside her performance career, Lucia worked at Tanzhaus Zürich co-organizing the professional training and was assistant production manager for the performing arts festival zürich moves! in 2018 and 2019. With the team of Connect - Dancing with neurological challenges, she currently develops an inclusive dance project and deepens the research of sharing her dance practice generously.
Lucia has received the Contempo Kulturförderpreis 2015, the Covid-Arbeitsstipendium from the city of Zurich in 2021 as well as a grant from the city of Schaffhausen. In 2023 she spent six months in Berlin thanks to a residency grant from the canton of Schaffhausen. In 2024 Lucia attended the ATLAS program at ImPulsTanz, Vienna supported by proHelvetia.
